Summer's almost here! Sunshine is melting the snow, and wildflowers are popping up everywhere. Big Sky starts buzzing with energy as the weather warms up! Planning to visit this summer? Get ready for awesome outdoor adventures, delicious al fresco dining, and of course, some amazing festivals! Here's a look at the top festivals you won't want to miss this summer!

Sports Events

Total Archery Challenge (June 14-16, 2024): This awesome archery competition includes a variety of on-mountain courses, a vendor village, a future champions course (for beginners and kids!), and other novelty shots to win prizes. Come out and experience one of the greatest 3D archery challenge in the country! 

Big Sky PBR (July 18-20, 2024): This exciting event offers three nights of professional bull riding! Professional Bull Riding (PBR) "combines intense sports action and world-class production that can’t be rivaled by any other major league sport." Some of the top riders in the world show off their talents during Big Sky's elite competition. It is astonishing to watch! 

The Big Sky Biggie (August 17): This is Big Sky's favorite cross-country biking event! The Biggie offers three different courses (60 miles, 30 miles, or 15 miles) that will put your skills to the test. The scenic routes consist of pieces of single-track, double-track, gravel roads, and paved segments - all of which have breathtaking views! 

The Rut (September 13-15, 2024): This renown three-day mountain running festival unites athletes from all over the world and pushes them with several different courses (Vertical Challenge, 11k, 20K, 28k, and 50k) on picturesque Lone Mountain. It is a challenge, but it is so rewarding!

Cultural Events

Paddling Film Festival (June 11, 2024): This unique film festival is part of Big Sky's Adventure Circuit Film Series. The series presents a collection of outdoor and recreation-focused film festivals. The Paddling Film Festival focuses specifically on whitewater, sea kayaking, canoeing, SUP, action, and lifestyle films covering more than 120 cities and towns across the world. 

Savor Big Sky (June 27-30, 2024): At this culinary event, food, wine, and spirits come together for one big party! There are a variety of great events that take place as a part of the festival. You can hike to brunch, enjoy a glass of wine with live music, or stargaze while sipping spirits. Come enjoy delicious eats and sips with stunning Lone Mountain as a back drop! Buy your tickets before they sell out.   

Big Sky County State Fair (July 17-21, 2024): This summer, indulge in fair foods, carnival rides, and live entertainment at the fair! They've added a new Barnyard for 2024, where visitors can enjoy a petting zoo, animal races, and agricultural education displays. Don't miss the signature rodeo!

Big Sky Artisan Festival (July 20, 2024): This market offers a marvelous opportunity to shop for artisan goods, including paintings, photography, pottery, jewelry, and other fine handmade products. As you browse, enjoy live music, food vendors, and drink vendors. 

Wildlands Festival (August 2-3, 2024): This music festival brings in some mindboggling talent! This year, you can come see talented performers like Dierks Bentley, Maren Morris, Lukas Nelson, and Wyatt Flores. As a bonus, ticket sales contribute to conservation!
