Observer has named Big Sky as one of the top U.S. resorts to visit if you want to enjoy a luxury ski trip! Their list, which was published on February 2, 2023, features nine ski resorts across the country that they consider the best resorts for snowy winter ski trips. All of these resorts have stunning alpine scenery and fabulous runs. They also have plenty of activities to enjoy when you want a break from the slopes!

Each resort on the list has lots to offer, but each has its own distinct style. Some resorts are laid-back, while others are glamorous. Big Sky is a vibrant city full of young professionals. It is a down-to-earth city, but it isn't short on luxury or culture! The restaurant scene is amazing, and there are some marvelous museums. The big attraction, of course, is the Great Outdoors. Big Sky is a premier destination for those looking to immerse themselves in nature, no matter the season.

Describing Big Sky, Observer shared:

"Big Sky is in no way new; it’s long been popular with snowbirds drawn to the Montana escape’s nearly 6,000 skiable acres, but the locale has become much more well-known as one of the top ski resorts over the past few years. There are technically three main mountain resorts in the area; there’s Big Sky Resort, Lone Mountain Ranch and more low-key Bridger Bowl, which also has more backcountry ski area access. Big Sky Resort is the winner when it comes to sheer size and number of runs, which don’t get as crowded due to their vastness as some of the other options, and there are about 2,300 acres of beginner and intermediate runs. Big Sky Resort also boasts around 400 inches of annual snowfall, which is a major plus for the ski season."

Observer also points out the resorts incredible proximity to Yellowstone National Park, which is unmissable- especially if it is your first time in Montana! It is also worth noting that Big Sky has the biggest skiable terrain in the United States.

We've reached peak ski season. Don't miss your chance to ski in Big Sky this year!
