Big Sky Going Big in the Freestyle

October 24, 2018

Among the steeps and hikeable terrain that advanced and expert skiers and riders seek at Big Sky Resort, there are also options for freestyle fun on the half pipes!  Big Sky has 7 terrain parks that will give freestyle and park seekers a boost this season. More acreage was added in the 2017/18 season and by doubling the size of the natural park (The Cache), along with improvements to the Swifty slope, the acreage for freestyle and terrain parks is better than ever.

Whether coming for a weekend or a week-long vacation, park seekers will find fun all day long.  The terrain parks cater to all levels – from newbies to the experienced shredders, Big Sky is sure to offer enough options to keep everyone happy.

For those new at testing their freestyle skills, go to Cowpoke and Explorer where you can start small.  After mastering some new tricks, try out Maverick Park (located off the Derringer Chair).  The more experienced riders can head on over to Peacemaker and Swifty, which are the largest parks on the mountain.

The natural freestyle adventure seekers may enjoy The Cache, which is a large expanded park that is to the left of Swifty.  There is a bike trail that when covered in snow offers skiers and riders banked turns and rollers.  The name says it all; Ninja Marmot!

Yet another reason Big Sky has gone big at the resort!  The recent enhancements in the freestyle world offers some of the best and most diverse terrain in the west.  For more information check out www.justbigsky.com
