Big Sky 2025 is an effort by Big Sky Resort to refresh and update the resort over a period of time. The plan emphasizes alpine traditions, revitalizing Mountain Village, boosting the Big Sky community, and improving transportation around the area.
Recently, Big Sky 2025 has led to parking expansion, new workforce housing, a new dining center, and a fresh ski lift, among other developments. Now, more projects have come to completion. Big Sky is also pushing closer to their goal of having the most technologically-advanced lift network in North America. The Swift Current lift out of the main base area is going to be upgraded over the summer to increase the passenger capacity from 4 to 6. It will also be fitted with heated seats and a bubble shield. These updates will be ready for guest use in the 2021-2022 ski season! There is also a new gondola expected to open by 2025. Details are sparse, but we do know that it is expected to be an activity hub and that it is being built with the goal of being a warm, comfortable transportation option.
